GALANDEL MUSIC

Musical background

In my early childhood, back in the 80`s, my mother has told me that I always used to whistle or hum on themes from tv-series like "Against the wind", "How the West was won, The Macahans", M*A*S*H among others.  

Further on thanks to my older brothers, my listening habits went on through a variety of albums by Jean-Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden plus many more artist mainly from the 70`s and the 80`s. Those artists and their tunes made a great impact on me. 

My interest in music didn't stretch further than just listening to music until the beginning of the 90`s, when me and a couple friends started a so-called punk rock band. Without any experience handling an instrument I suddenly became a bass player. Well, it was almost a guitar... and they needed a bass player to form a so called hard rocking band, so what to do. Today I stand humble for that choice and I`m extremely thankful for my father who bought me a four stringed "guitar" and later on a "real" Spanish guitar! Since then, I`ve played in many different constellations within various genres. 

Over the years I´ve been in several studios, but I was never interested in the technical side with the vast amount of gadgets like mixing consoles, compressors etc. Instead, I was more focused on getting the right overall feeling in how we were playing, singing and how it should sound. 

In recent years I´ve become a composer and producer of my own music. It happened through pure curiosity and playfulness. Now, I like "gadgets" and combined with these and my intuitive and emotive journey into the realms of tones, I have never had such a joy in making music as I have today.​

Creativity

For me my creative moment is like a meditation without any expectations nor thoughts, I just let it happen by impulse without any rules nor thoughts.

 

Production

In my writing process I work mainly with my acoustic guitars and bass guitar and of course a lot of different virtual synths and sounds. And I record, mix and master all my productions on my own.

Overall, I`m a kind of a do it your own way guy which makes my music production into an exciting journey. 

Everything I`ve made so far, I`ve done by myself without any prior knowledge nor help from anyone else. 

In my world there`s nothing right or wrong. Does it feel right, then just go with it!

 

Work

I can easily familiarize myself within different situations, things, emotions and stories, which comes handy If someone asks me to make music for their project. And yes I'm a humble person and easy to work with!

So far I´ve made music for documentaries, commercials (including voice over), art exhibitions, meditations and libraries.

Inspiration

I find my inspiration from many different sources, like nature, art and life etc. but mostly it comes from within. It just needs a little spark. 

Of course, musicians and artist makes a great deal of inspiration too like Jean-Michell Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Vangelis, Röyksopp, Daft Punk, Estas Tonne, TOOL, Björn Isfält, Björk, Nils Frahm, Anna von Hausswolff, Air, W.G. Snuffy Walden, Ennio Morricone, Kate Bush, Angelo Badalamenti, John Williams, Max Richter, Susanne Sundför, Yann Tiersen, Trent Reznor, Stefan Nilsson, Björn J:son Lindh, Georg Riedel. Well, the list goes on...
